The short answer
- Every kind of Irish digital provider is now adding “AI visibility” to the pitch — SEO agencies, marketing agencies, web-design firms and a new wave of AEO/GEO specialists.
- Most arrive from an existing discipline, and the incentive is to sell more of what they already do: SEO scope, a content programme, a website rebuild, a retainer.
- The honest first question is the one we ask on every engagement — is the juice worth the squeeze? Not every site needs a rebuild or a bigger content budget to be recommended by AI.
- Genivista sits before all of them: an independent diagnosis of what AI actually says, so you brief the right provider — or none — instead of buying scope on spec.
- We are a consultancy, not software (we are not Profound or Peec) and not an agency. We diagnose; you choose who implements.
If you have started asking how AI describes and recommends your business, you have probably noticed that almost every agency in Ireland now has an answer for it. That is healthy — but it is worth understanding where each provider is coming from, because their starting discipline shapes the fix they will recommend. Here is the landscape, and where an independent diagnosis belongs in it.
The pivot everyone is making
Three years ago, “get recommended by ChatGPT” was not on anyone’s rate card. Today it is on most of them. The common thread is that providers are reaching AI visibility from where they already stand: an SEO firm frames it as “SEO has never been more important,” a marketing agency folds it into a broader retainer, and a web studio sees a reason for a rebuild. None of that is wrong — but each lens comes with an incentive, and the incentive is rarely “do less.”
SEO agencies moving into AEO
Ireland has a deep bench of SEO talent, and clean technical SEO genuinely helps AI read your site. Established names include Wolfgang Digital and Matrix Internet (both long-standing Dublin agencies), SWOT Digital, Riordan SEO and independent consultants such as Cian Murphy Digital. Their strength is search performance; the thing to watch is that ranking on Google and being recommended by AI are different mechanisms, and an SEO engagement will tend to grow SEO scope.
Marketing agencies adding AI visibility
Full-service marketing agencies — among them Granite Digital, Strike Digital, CEEK, Sumoblue and Social Gravity — bring brand, content and demand under one roof, often with in-house or outsourced SEO. That breadth is useful, but AI-visibility-specific gaps tend to fall between SEO and general marketing, owned by neither, and return on the extra spend usually goes unmeasured. A diagnosis closes that measurement gap before the budget is committed.
Web-design firms pitching the overhaul
Design-led studios such as Kooba, Enhance.ie (part of Granite Digital), Matrix Internet and Stacks Creative produce excellent sites — and increasingly present AI visibility as a reason for a redesign. Sometimes structure genuinely is the blocker. Often it is not, and a rebuild risks the organic rankings you already have. This is exactly where the “is the juice worth the squeeze?” test matters most.
The new AEO / GEO specialists
A small but growing group markets Answer Engine and Generative Engine Optimisation directly — for example Create108, ePresence (Cork), Agile Digital Strategy and Progressive UX. They are closest to the discipline by name, and often the most current. The same principle applies: a specialist who both audits and implements has a natural incentive in the size of the implementation.
A note on the software tools. Products like Profound and Peec are AI-visibility software — dashboards that measure and track. They are not Irish agencies, and they are not Genivista. A tool gives you a score; it does not give you judgement, interpretation or an independent plan. Tools and a diagnosis work well together.
Where an independent audit fits — and the “juice worth the squeeze” test
Genivista is deliberately not on the implementation side of this market. We diagnose how AI systems describe, compare, cite and recommend you; we identify which sources shape the answer and where competitors are winning; and we hand you a prioritised, independent action plan. Because we do not sell the fix, there is no incentive to inflate it — and the first thing a good diagnosis does is tell you what is not worth doing. The goal is to help you build AI visibility as a core, in-house strategic capability before you bring in third parties whose incentive is the largest possible scope.
The question is not whether your website can be optimised. Almost any site can. The question is whether the work would move AI visibility — and whether it risks the rankings you already have.
How to choose in the Irish market
- Diagnose independently. Establish what AI actually says, why, which competitors it prefers, and which Irish sources drive it.
- Brief the right provider. Hand the plan to your own team, an SEO, marketing, AEO or web firm — with specific instructions, not a vague goal.
- Verify independently. Get an unbiased read later on whether the work actually moved your position.
Much of what shapes AI’s view of an Irish B2B company is Ireland-specific — the local directories, publications and industry bodies AI draws on. Most Irish firms have not started this work, which is a genuine first-mover position for the ones that do.
