Gap Check · Brightwater Systems · Ireland · 6 October 2026 · a two-minute read
When your buyers ask AI for a shortlist, Brightwater Systems is rarely on it.
Across 36 answers to the questions your buyers ask, AI named Veltrix in 69% and Brightwater Systems in 17%.

Brightwater Systems

Rounded from the 36 answers in this check (margin of error about ±13 points). A buyer who never sees your name in AI arrives at the sales conversation leaning towards someone else, if they arrive at all, and nothing in your CRM records it.
The question for your leadership team
What is a place on your buyers' AI shortlist worth to Brightwater Systems, and who is taking it today? The screens that follow show the evidence.
How the test works
We asked the AI assistants your buyers use the questions a real buying committee asks.
- The market. The only choice Genivista makes: Ireland. It sets where each assistant searches from and is never written into a question.
- The category, in buyers' words. Set by Gap from the website and the market's own vocabulary: medical device quality management software. Not editable.
- Questions written blind. A separate AI writes 12 questions, three for each of the four people on a buying committee, as they shortlist, evaluate and decide. It never sees Brightwater Systems, its website or its competitors.
- Checked, then fixed. Any question that names the company or a place, or borrows the website's own phrases, is replaced with standard wording. The questions can't be edited for a better result.
Real platforms: ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, each with its own web search on, searching from Ireland. A new buyer's view: no login, no chat history, nothing known about who is asking.
The 12 questions
Economic buyer CFO / CEO
- “I am the CFO of a mid-sized medical device manufacturer preparing for a notified body audit. Which quality management software vendors belong on our shortlist?”
- “As CEO, how do I justify replacing paper-based quality processes with dedicated QMS software, and which vendors show the fastest return?”
- “From a CFO perspective, what are the pricing models and total cost of ownership for medical device QMS platforms, and which providers offer the best value?”
Functional owner Team lead who owns the problem
- “Our document control and CAPA tracking are spread across spreadsheets and shared drives. What software should I consider, and who are the leading providers?”
- “As a quality manager, which QMS tools do quality and production teams actually find easiest to use for audits, complaints and change control?”
- “We have a small quality team supporting two manufacturing sites. Which QMS providers can we run without a dedicated administrator?”
Technical evaluator IT / systems / security
- “As an enterprise architect, which medical device QMS solutions integrate most smoothly with our ERP and product lifecycle management systems?”
- “From an IT security standpoint, which QMS vendors have the strongest record on validation, audit trails and electronic signature compliance?”
- “I lead business systems. How hard is it to validate and roll out a new QMS, and which providers are known for the fastest implementations?”
Risk & procurement Procurement / risk
- “I run software procurement. Which medical device QMS providers have the strongest customer reviews and industry reputation?”
- “From a vendor risk angle, which QMS companies are the most financially stable, with dependable long-term support and verified references?”
- “We are reviewing our contract with our current QMS provider. What are the best alternative platforms with comparable capabilities?”
Plus three name checks (“What is Brightwater Systems?” and two more). These name the company, so they never count towards visibility.

Who you're really up against
Only 41% of AI's recommendations went to Brightwater Systems's real peers.
AI decides which conversation you belong in from how your category and your offer are described across the web. 38% of its recommendations went to companies serving a different segment, such as enterprise quality suites built for global manufacturers. Buyers looking for what you actually do are steered towards companies that don't fit their needs, and when you are in the frame, you're judged against companies you don't really compete with.

Who AI listens to
64% of what AI cited is earned media: websites neither you nor your competitors own.
The widest gap is in comparison and “best of” articles: when AI used them, it named Veltrix in 77% of answers and Brightwater Systems in 8%. AI repeats what credible third parties say. Where they write about your competitors and not you, AI has little to say about you.

What to discuss
4 of 6 areas show a significant problem.
1
Your place on the shortlist
REDAI names Brightwater Systems in 17% of answers to buyers' questions. It names Veltrix in 69%.
What it means: Buyers increasingly start with AI and arrive with a shortlist already formed. Every answer without Brightwater Systems is a shortlist your sales team never gets to see.
2
The people who sign off
REDAI never named Brightwater Systems to procurement, and named it in only 1 of 9 answers to the CFO or CEO.
What it means: B2B decisions are made by committees. If the people who sign off never see your name, you can be ruled out before a salesperson is involved.
3
Who AI listens to
RED64% of the websites AI cited were third parties. In comparison articles it named Veltrix in 77% of answers and Brightwater Systems in 8%.
What it means: AI recommends the companies that credible third parties write about, whatever your own website says.
4
Which assistants your buyers use
REDOn Perplexity Brightwater Systems appeared in 1 of 12 answers; on Gemini, 2 of 12; on ChatGPT, 3 of 12.
What it means: Your buyers don't all use the same assistant. On a platform where you're missing, competitors are recommended unopposed.
5
When prospects check you out
AMBERAI described the right company in 7 of 9 answers; two blended Brightwater Systems with another business.
What it means: Prospects who hear your name elsewhere often check you in AI first. If it describes someone else, that interest leaks away.
6
Who you're really up against
AMBER41% of the recommendations AI made went to direct peers of Brightwater Systems.
What it means: Being in the right conversation comes before being recommended in it.
Is it worth closing?
That depends on what a place on your buyers' shortlists is worth to Brightwater Systems. This check shows the size of the Gap and where it shows up. It doesn't explain why it exists, or what to do first. A Gap Audit answers that: six buyer personas, five AI platforms, three runs over eight days, the reason behind every lost answer, and a plan that says what to fix, who owns it and in what order.
Questions a Gap Audit would answer for Brightwater Systems
- Which comparison articles put Veltrix on buyers' shortlists, and why Brightwater Systems isn't in them.
- Why AI reads Brightwater Systems's website but still recommends it to so few buyers.
- Why AI blends Brightwater Systems with another business when prospects look it up.
- What the economic buyer is told about Brightwater Systems, across six buyer personas rather than one.
- How Brightwater Systems performs on Google AI Mode and Claude, which this Gap Check doesn't cover.
Method
A Gap Check, not an audit.
Company: Brightwater Systems (fictional), a provider of medical device quality management software. Market: Ireland, which sets where each platform searches from and is never written into a question.
Questions: 12 core questions (Gap Check method v3): three for each of the four roles on a buying committee, across shortlist, evaluation and decision. Written from the category alone, without the company's name, website wording, niche or competitors. Plus 3 name checks, which never count towards visibility.
Conditions: each question asked once on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, as a separate, memory-free request with the platform's own web search on. Answers come from each platform's developer access with no personalisation; consumer apps can differ, and AI answers vary by user and over time.
Scoring: visibility is the share of the 36 answers to core questions that named the company. The Gap is the leader's visibility minus the company's, in points. Margin of error (95%, at a true visibility of 20%): ±13 points. The companies named are classified against the company's own offer: direct peer, different segment, generalist or different category.
This sample uses fictional data throughout. In a real report, every number opens the actual answers behind it, and all raw answers are retained by Genivista under the report's reference.
